Benralizumab for eosinophilic exacerbation of asthma or COPD

This Medudy course is a video tutorial for physicians on the topic "Benralizumab in eosinophilic exacerbation of asthma or COPD". The format used here is a so-called "Journal Club Summary", in which we summarize the latest and most clinically relevant studies for you.

Exacerbations of asthma and COPD represent a significant health burden worldwide. Patients with eosinophilic endotype exacerbations have an increased risk of recurrences, leading to repeated exposure to systemic glucocorticoids. Therefore, safer therapeutic alternatives are urgently needed to reduce the cumulative side effects of steroid therapy. Today's study therefore investigates whether treatment of eosinophilic exacerbations with a single dose of subcutaneously administered benralizumab could be superior to standard glucocorticoid therapy in acute asthma and COPD exacerbations.

Note: All "speakers" appearing in the Medudy videos are AI-based avatars used to improve the didactics of the videos. The people on whom the avatars are based have explicitly consented to their use. All content is based on high-quality scientific sources and is created and reviewed by the Medudy medical team.

At the end of this training you will know:
