topic “Primary vs. Interval Surgery in Advanced Ovarian Cancer.”
Prof. Dr. Sven Mahner and Prof. Dr. Fabian Trillsch discuss the role of surgical therapy in
advanced ovarian cancer on the sidelines of the
American Cancer Congress ASCO 2026. The focus is on current analyses of the
TRUST study comparing primary debulking surgery and neoadjuvant
chemotherapy with interval surgery, as well as the question of which clinical factors—
in particular a significant pleural effusion or pleural carcinomatosis—determine the optimal
treatment sequence.
