Kidney transplant

This Medudy Master Class Series is a video tutorial for physicians on the topic of kidney transplantation.

This six-part module explores the key aspects of kidney transplantation and is led by Prof. Dr. Mario Schiffer, Director of the Department of Nephrology and Hypertension at Erlangen University Hospital.

The first part of this series focuses on the waiting list and optimal preparation of recipients. Building on this, the second part addresses living donation and the careful preparation of donors. The third part then examines the surgical aspects of kidney transplantation as well as potential peri- and postoperative complications. Another key focus is on rejection, the immunological basis, and relevant infectious complications, which are clearly presented in the fifth part. Finally, the sixth part addresses recurrences and late complications.
