Risankizumab for Crohn's disease

This Medudy course is a video tutorial for physicians on the topic of "Risankizumab in Crohn's disease". The format used here is a so-called "Journal Club Summary", in which we summarize the latest and most clinically relevant studies for you.

TNF inhibitors are the standard therapy of first choice for moderate to severe Crohn's disease. In the event of an insufficient response or adverse events, patients are often switched to another TNF inhibitor or a biologic with a different mechanism of action. As there are only a few direct comparative studies, these decisions are usually based on indirect comparisons and observational data. Today's SEQUENCE study was therefore designed as a direct head-to-head study to compare the efficacy and safety of risankizumab and ustekinumab in patients with moderate to severe Crohn's disease.

Note: All "speakers" appearing in the Medudy videos are AI-based avatars used to improve the didactics of the videos. The people on whom the avatars are based have explicitly consented to their use. All content is based on high-quality scientific sources and is created and reviewed by the Medudy medical team.
This Journal Club Summary in video format presents a head-to-head comparative study between risankizumab and ustekinumab in patients with moderate to severe Crohn's disease who have failed anti-TNF therapy. The results provide new insights into effective treatment options.

At the end of this training you will know:

  • the clinical background and relevance of the research question under investigation
  • Study design and methodology of the publication to answer the research question
  • the results and key takeaways of the publication
  • the conclusion of the publication and possible limitations
