In the treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, biologic therapies targeting type 2 inflammation are an alternative to repeated surgery or systemic steroids. However, for patients who do not respond adequately to these biologics, there is a high need for further treatment options.
Today's phase 3 WAYPOINT trial therefore investigated the efficacy of tezepelumab - a monoclonal antibody that blocks thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) - in severe, uncontrolled chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps.
