This Medudy course is a video tutorial for doctors on the topic of "Endometrial changes in PCOS". The format used here is a so-called "Journal Club Summary", in which we summarize the latest and most clinically relevant studies for you.
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) affects 11 to 13% of women of childbearing age. Symptoms include hormonal imbalances and endometrial dysfunction, which is associated with unfavorable pregnancy outcomes and an increased risk of endometrial cancer. Obesity can further exacerbate PCOS symptoms. Despite these known factors, it is still unclear how certain cell types contribute to the endometrial dysfunction that occurs in PCOS.
In today's study, single nuclei RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics were used to investigate endometrial changes in overweight and obese women with and without PCOS.
Note: All "speakers" appearing in the Medudy videos are AI-based avatars used to improve the didactics of the videos. The people on whom the avatars are based have explicitly consented to their use. All content is based on high-quality scientific sources and is created and reviewed by the Medudy medical team.
