Following an introductory overview of vulnerable patient groups, each module focuses on a specific chronic underlying condition: the altered risk of infection in diabetes mellitus; the association between infections and acute cardiovascular events; vaccination prevention in chronic kidney disease, including dialysis and transplantation; infection-triggered exacerbations in COPD and asthma; and vaccination during immunomodulatory or immunosuppressive therapy for inflammatory rheumatic diseases.
The focus is on the current STIKO and professional society recommendations regarding influenza, pneumococcal disease, COVID-19, RSV, and herpes zoster, as well as the practical implementation of vaccination status checks in everyday practice.
