The Spitzenverband Fachärzte Deutschlands e.V. (SpiFa) is the umbrella organization of all medical specialists in hospitals and practices in Germany. Within its framework, the medical professional associations and organizations organize a joint representation for the concerns of medical specialists.
The aim of the SpiFa is to present and represent the overriding interests of medical specialists in hospitals and practices to politicians, self-administration and other independent associations, as well as their political implementation at federal and state level.
The SpiFa and its regular and associated member associations represent over 165,000 medical specialists in hospitals and practices. The specialists work in primary care, specialized and highly specialized care, whether in a practice, a medical care center, a hospital or in university medicine.
Since February 2022, SpiFa has been registered as a professional association in the lobby register for the representation of interests vis-à-vis the German Bundestag and the Federal Government.
